Rhythm-based Music Therapy

Prescription (Rx) for Rhythm

Led by Jason Armstrong Baker, LPMT, MT-BC.
Sponsored by Johns Hopkins Center for Music & Medicine

Rx for Rhythm is a weekly music therapy group for people with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. We learn to play drums and percussion instruments in time together while developing our connection to rhythm, strengthening our internal clock, improving our coordination, and laughing together! Everyone has rhythm. No experience necessary. Care partners are also welcome.

“The hardest thing in Jason’s class is using my hands and feet in different rhythms. It’s great for Parkinson’s.”
